Location

Newcastle Upon Tyne

Skin Life Analytics spun out of Newcastle University in 2022 and the company has its offices at the Catalyst Building in the Helix development, and a laboratory that benefits from the latest equipment housed in the Medical School at Newcastle University.

Professor Mark Birch-Machin’s group has pioneered research into the mitochondria’s role in skin ageing since 1995. During this time, Mark has had a keen interest in the role lifestyle stress plays in mitochondrial dysfunction in the skin and his research group is specifically focused on the role sunlight, pollution, sleep, and genetic mitochondrial dysfunction have on the skin.
